Operations
Global Advanced Metals is an international business with operations in Australia, the United States and Japan. Our customers are based primarily in Asia, North America and Europe.
Our vision is to advance our current vertically integrated, conflict-free global business and provide tantalum and niobium solutions for our customers’ needs. GAM will continue to be a leader in safety, health and environment providing high quality products and investing in research and development of new tantalum and niobium products.
Global Advanced Metals (GAM) was formed after our tantalum operations were separated from the then Talison Minerals to create a new and distinct company focused specifically on tantalum metals for the future. Upon its establishment, GAM’s primary assets were the Greenbushes and Wodgina tantalum mines located in Western Australia. Greenbushes and Wodgina are considered to be two of the largest tantalum resources in the world.
In 2012, GAM purchased the Cabot Supermetals business, based in the U.S. with operations located in Japan, which converts tantalum ores and concentrates into a range of metallurgical products including different grades of capacitor powders.
As a result of this acquisition, GAM added the Boyertown processing plant, the Aizu processing plant in Japan, and research and development facilities in both Boyertown and Aizu to their existing mining and concentrating operations. GAM also has corporate offices located in Wellesley, Massachusetts USA and Tokyo, Japan with its registered office located in Greenbushes, Western Australia.
