Chief Executive Officer
Andrew O’Donovan
Andrew joined the tantalum processing business in 2004 and was President of GAM Technology division before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2013. He has approximately 20 years experience in various parts of the global electronics supply chain. Andrew also serves on the Board of Advisors of RESOLVE, a social, health and environmental focused NGO.


Chief Financial Officer, Executive General Manager – GAM Resources
Glenn Williams
Glenn is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years of corporate finance and accounting experience. Glenn has worked extensively within the mining and metals manufacturing, and financial services industries within Australia, and North and Central America. Prior to joining Global Advanced Metals in 2010, Glenn worked for a listed mining services company, a Big 4 accounting advisory firm, and large Australian commercial bank.


Sr. Vice President, General Counsel
Philip Szabla
Phil has been a business and corporate lawyer for over 40 years. Previously Phil was a Chief Counsel at Cabot Corporation where he advised each of Cabot’s global business segments (including Cabot Supermetals prior to its sale to GAM), and was Cabot’s counsel for strategic corporate transactions. Prior to Cabot, Phil was Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel at GC Companies, Inc. a former NYSE listed company. Before he began his in-house legal career Phil was in private practice of corporate and business law in Buffalo, New York. An Evans Scholar, Phil received law and accounting degrees from the University at Buffalo and is admitted to practice law in both Massachusetts and New York.


Chief Commercial Officer
Ryan Clement
Ryan joined GAM in 2018 from a background of over 20 years in progressive roles in many aspects of electronic materials. He draws from experience in general management, marketing, and operations in Dow Chemical, WR Grace, and Matheson TriGas. Ryan holds a BS in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Northeastern University.


Vice President Global Operations
Mark Lackey
Mark leads Global Operations for Global Advanced Metals (GAM) manufacturing sites. He has over 20 years in the tantalum processing business in progressive roles associated with many aspects of tantalum and niobium manufacturing. Mark joined GAM in 2013 following the Cabot Supermetals acquisition. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas.


Chief Technology Officer
Gordon C Smith
Gordon has led the R&D organization at GAM since 2019, bringing over 25 years of experience in electronic materials product development and business leadership from previous roles at 3M, Honeywell, DSM, Brady Corporation, and most recently GSI Technologies. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering Practice and a Doctorate of Science in Chemical Engineering both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Business Administration from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mark Comerford
Mark served as Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Haynes International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HAYN) from 2008 until 2018, a manufacturer of engineered nickel based and cobalt based alloys for the aerospace, energy, and chemical industries. Prior to joining Haynes, he was President of the Alloy and International Divisions of Brush Engineered Materials, Inc., now Materion, Inc. (NYSE: MTRN). Mark holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Canisius College of Buffalo, New York

Bryan Ellis
Bryan served as CEO of GAM from 2010 until 2012. He has been involved in the Australian and international resources industry for more than 30 years. Through a range of senior roles, he has provided leadership in the exploration, development and production of mineral sands in addition to tantalum.

Brett Beatty
Brett is a Partner of Resource Capital Funds, a majority shareholder of GAM. Prior to joining RCF in 2009 Brett was a mining engineer involved in several development assets across Australia focused on nickel and gold. Brett has worked on numerous transactions for RCF in the Perth, Denver and Santiago offices. Brett’s other board engagement includes Provale Holdings S.A. in Brazil. Brett has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Engineering from Curtin University in Western Australia.

Renee Hornbaker
Renee Hornbaker served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Stream Energy from 2011 to 2017. Previously she served as Chief Financial Officer with Shared Technologies and Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS). She serves on the board of Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) where she chairs the Finance Committee and also serves on the board of a number of private companies.

James McClements
James is co-founder and Managing Partner of Resource Capital Funds (RCF), a majority shareholder of GAM. James has extensive Board experience having served on the boards of 11 RCF portfolio companies. Prior to launching RCF in 1998 James was a natural resources sector banker with N.M. Rothschild and Standard Chartered Bank. He began his professional career with BHP Limited after completing an honors degree in Economics from the University of Western Australia.

Donna Grier
Donna Grier held progressive leadership positions from 1982-2019 with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company (NYSE:DE), a Fortune 100 diversified agricultural and manufacturing company, and most recently as Vice President and Treasurer. She has served on the Board and Audit Committee of Pyxus International.
