Our Mining
Resources
Greenbushes – Australia
Among our various mining interests in Western Australia, the Greenbushes mine site is located in the south-west of Western Australia, approximately 250 km from Perth.
The Greenbushes deposit contains one of the world’s largest hard rock tantalum resources. The Greenbushes tantalum is produced as a co-product of lithium. GAMs Greenbushes operations consists of tantalum recovery and secondary processing circuits to produce on-specification, saleable tantalum concentrates. The Greenbushes secondary processing operation also upgrades primary tantalum concentrate received from its Wodgina plants, as well as material received from other third parties. The secondary plant also includes tin smelting capabilities with tin ingots smelted from tin that is extracted as it passes through the secondary processing circuit.

Wodgina and Pilbara Region– Australia
Wodgina is located approximately 100 km south-east of Port Hedland in the north-west of Western Australia.

Among our various mining interests in Western Australia, Wodgina is one of the world’s largest hard rock tantalum resources. Since it was discovered in 1902, the ore body has been mined for tin, iron, lithium, tantalum and beryl. Tantalum production began in 1905, with most early production sourced from alluvial and eluvial deposits.
GAM retains all rights to the tantalum resources at Wodgina as well as at other locations in the Pilbara region. Tantalum from the Wodgina mine is sourced as a co-product of lithium much like the tantalum from the Greenbushes mine.
Any tantalum produced at Wodgina is processed through GAM owned tantalum recovery circuits and sent to our Greenbushes operation for secondary processing where we produce on-specification, saleable tantalum products.
The area around Wodgina contains numerous pegmatite rich zones, including the Tabba Tabba tenements which have a significant defined tantalum resource.
